Mobile Tire Patching in Raleigh and the NC Triangle

A flat tire does not always mean you need a brand new one. If the puncture is in the right spot and the damage is not too severe, a professional patch can save you money and get you back on the road in under an hour.

Amp Rescue provides mobile tire patching across Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Wake Forest, and the surrounding Triangle area. We come to wherever you are, inspect the damage, and patch your tire on site. No tow truck or waiting at a shop. You call, we show up, and you drive away.

How Tire Patching Works

When you call Amp Rescue, our technician heads to your location with everything needed to handle the repair. We start by inspecting the tire to determine whether a patch is the right fix. Not every flat can be patched safely, and we will always be upfront about that.

If the puncture is in the tread area and smaller than a quarter inch, a patch is usually the best option. We remove the tire from the rim, clean the damaged area from the inside, and apply an industry-standard plug and patch combination. This is a repair that meets the same standards used by tire shops.

Once the patch is applied, we remount the tire, inflate it to the correct pressure, and check for leaks. The whole process once we arrive takes about 20 to 35 minutes depending on the situation.

When a Patch Will Not Work

We want to save you money, but we will never patch a tire that is not safe to drive on. There are a few situations where replacement is the better call.

Sidewall damage cannot be patched. The sidewall flexes constantly while you drive, and a patch there will not hold. If you see a bulge, cut, or puncture on the side of the tire, it needs to be replaced.

Punctures larger than a quarter inch or those caused by large objects may have damaged the internal structure of the tire. Same goes for tires that have been driven on flat for more than a short distance. The heat and friction can destroy the inner lining even if the outside looks fine.

If your tire cannot be patched, we will let you know on the spot and can help with a replacement instead.

Tire Patching FAQ

How long does a tire patch last?

As long as the tire is in good condition otherwise, the patched area will hold for the remaining life of the tire. We use the same materials and methods that professional tire shops use.

Can you patch a tire on the side of the road?

Yes. Our mobile units carry full patching equipment including tire removal tools, patch kits, and portable air compressors. We can perform the complete repair wherever you are, whether that is a parking lot, your driveway, or the shoulder of a highway.

What if my tire cannot be patched?

If we inspect your tire and determine that a patch is not safe, we will explain why and walk you through your options. We can install a spare tire if you have one, or arrange a tire replacement.
